Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has officially revealed the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo, a digital concept car developed for the Gran Turismo 6 video game. The car joins a growing list of manufacturer-designed virtual racers, pushing the boundaries of performance and design for PlayStation players.

The SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo is available in three versions within the game: S, GTS-R, and X. Each variant delivers escalating levels of power and technical complexity, with the X version topping the range at an extraordinary 2,590hp. The car’s design features an aggressive aerodynamic body, LED lighting, and extensive use of lightweight materials including graphene skins over the engine cover and cockpit. A prominent rear diffuser and five-tailpipe exhaust system complete the visual package.

Performance figures across the range

The entry-level S version is powered by a 7.0-litre V10 engine producing 792hp, supplemented by a pneumatically driven front axle adding 215hp for a combined 1,007hp. With a weight of 918kg, the S can reach over 402km/h (250mph). The GTS-R, aimed at virtual racing, increases total output to 1,450hp and drops weight to 661kg, enabling a claimed top speed of 482km/h (300mph). The flagship X version, designed to stretch the limits of the game’s physics, delivers 2,590hp and a theoretical top speed of 650km/h (404mph).

Design and technology focus

The Tomahawk’s styling is dominated by extreme aerodynamics and technical detailing. The bodywork integrates active panels and advanced materials to reduce weight and manage airflow. LED headlights and a five-tailpipe exhaust reinforce its futuristic intent. As a digital-only creation, the Tomahawk allowed SRT designers to ignore real-world constraints, resulting in a concept that would be impossible to homologate for road or track use.

Gran Turismo’s Vision project and other rivals

The Tomahawk joins a roster of Vision Gran Turismo concepts from global manufacturers, each pushing creative and technical boundaries in the virtual space. Other recent entries include the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo and the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo, both of which have also featured in Gran Turismo 6. These projects offer carmakers a platform to experiment with radical ideas without the limitations of production feasibility.
