Bentley will break the ice by offering its first V8 engine to the Continental GT model.
With CO2 emissions that aren’t quite “eco-friendly”, Bentley has to introduce a smaller engine to its Continental GT model, but being a Bentley a V8 seems the best choice.
The new eight-cylinder 4.0 liter engine will make its debut on the 2012 version of the Continental GT. Even though fans of Bentley are used to the W12, bi-turbo 6.0 liter or the 6.75 liter found on the Mulsanne, the new V8 will have to find its place into the British car manufacturer’s line-up.
Bentley is not currently offering details about power, performance or fuel consumption of the new Continental GT V8 powered version but the information should be available sometime this winter, ahead of its Detroit debut.
Until the Detroit Motor Show in spring 2012, Bentley will bring a GTC convertible at the Frankfurt Motor Show this autumn.
