Skoda has denied the rumors saying that the company is working on a two-door version of the Coupe.
The initial rumors put on paper just last week were saying that the Czech based automaker is currently working on a Skoda Rapid Coupe, which should become a “tribute” for the original Rapid Coupe, which was born back in 1984. The model should have hit the market next year, in order to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original Rapid Coupe and it was believed that the Rapid Sport Concept, unveiled at Worthersee, earlier this year, would have served as a preview for a new Rapid body style.
Contacted by inautonews.com, the Italian division of Skoda denied all rumors and said that the company has no plans of putting the Rapid Coupe into production. According to the car manufacturer, the Rapid Spaceback will be the second and last body style to be based on the model so those of you who were looking into the possibility of buying a new Skoda Rapid Coupe will probably have to turn your heads towards a three-door hatchback, because it will probably cost about the same as the Czech vehicle.
