The Lada Niva Urban has been revealed recently ahead of its public debut which has been scheduled for the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, healing at the end of August.
One of the most appreciated off-roaders out there, the Lada Niva, has just turned 37 years since it is in production but Russian based automaker AvtoVAZ has no plans of putting an end to it, anytime soon. In fact, the popular vehicle has just received a series of upgrades and it was revealed in its “new form”, ahead of its public debut which will take place in a couple of months, during the 2014 Moscow Motor Show.
Some of the updates added to the Lada Niva Urban include the new radiator grille, the curved rear wiper, the body colored plastic bumpers, the air conditioning, power windows, more sound deadening material and more. Power is being provided by a 1.7 liter four-cylinder engine, rated at 81 HP (60 kW) at 5,000 rpm. The unit is connected to a 5-speed manual transmission with three differentials. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the off-roader needs 22 seconds. Top speed stands at 137 km/h (85 mph). More details on it will be announced at the Russian automotive event.
