According to a recent report from Autocar, Mercedes Benz is considering a high-performance four-door that would slot into the firm’s range above the CLS and give it a rival to Bentley’s Continental GT.
Mercedes sources have described the model as “über-CLS” (“over-CLS”) and it will feature a more dramatic design language and will feature AMG engines and chassis – of course. But, desides being offered as a Mercedes Benz model, there are rumors that the model could spawn a Maybach variant.
For the moment nothing is official, but a source indicated the brand is looking at sportier models because of the interested generated by the Xenatec 57S Cruiserio coupe.
For those who don’t know, 2011 Xenatec Cruiserio Maybach 57S Coupe is four-door sedan to a coupe using key information direct, configured by Xenatec designer Fredrik Burchhardt from Daimler, Maybach’s parent company.
