A CC version of the Volkswagen Touareg is being taken into consideration these days by the German based automaker, after BMW has leaded the way in the new segment.
Volkswagen is planning to develop a Touareg CC which will go against models like the Audi Q6 or the Mercedes-Benz MLC, not to mention the one which is here for a few years, the BMW X6, the leader of the segment. Even if a Volkswagen Touareg CC is a real possibility, the German based carmaker didn’t announce anything official on this subject for the moment, but according to the guys at autobild.de, the company is expected to be launched in early 2015 as a 2016 model year.
Just like we mentioned above, the future Volkswagen Touareg CC will be a direct competitor to models like the BMW X6, the Audi Q6 (how weird is that?) or the Mercedes-Benz MLC, but that’s about all the info we’ve got on the crossover. More details on the Volkswagen Touareg CC are expected to be announced in the following months and we’re waiting for the spy videos with the model testing at the Nurburgring.
As a quick reminder, the VW Touareg has been in production since 2002 and the second generation of the model is being offered since 2010. The crossover is 4,796 cm long, 1,941 cm wide and 1,709 cm tall. The Touareg, which is related to the Audi Q7 and to the Porsche Cayenne, is coming with a choice of six engines, four gasoline burners and two diesels.
