Volkswagen Up! got a new GT version
The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced a sportier version of the small Up! model, named the GT, which is currently standing in front of the production line as a Concept.
According to VW, the Up! GT Concept comes with a series of new features and even if the Germans didn’t announce their intention to release it as a production version yet, the model has several elements which make it come pretty close to the assembly line.
The Volkswagen Up! GT Concept has some exterior modifications compared to the standard version which will make it stand out of the crowd, along with a new engine which the Germans say that it generates over 100 horsepower, so if the new version will hit the production line it might battle on the same level to the high-performance versions of the Fiat 500 and Renault Twingo.
Besides the “classic” body kit which gives it a more aggressive look, the front grille might hide an intercooler which means that the engine can come in a supercharged version. But a vehicle isn’t unique these days if it doesn’t stand on large wheels, 17 inch alloys in this case, probably wrapped in high-performance tires.
The interior hasn’t been forgotten by the German engineers and designers who will “adopt” the same upholstery as its bigger brothers, the GTIs, and even if the VW Up! GT hasn’t been officially announced for production, expect to see it in a driveway near you pretty soon.
