Jeep Unveils Cherokee and Renegade Night Eagle Editions at Frankfurt
Jeep introduced Night Eagle special editions for the Cherokee and Renegade at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, bringing new styling details and engine options to its SUV line-up.
Jeep revealed Night Eagle special editions for both the Cherokee and Renegade at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, focusing on gloss black styling elements and new trim features. Both models are based on their respective Longitude specifications and target buyers seeking a more distinctive look within Jeep’s SUV line-up.
Renegade Night Eagle: styling and options
The Renegade Night Eagle is built on the Longitude trim and features satin grey exterior accents, black 17-inch alloy wheels and a choice of five paint colours, including Solar Yellow and Volcano Sand. Inside, the special edition adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, unique upholstery and Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment with a 5-inch display.
Engine choices for the Renegade Night Eagle cover both petrol and diesel: the 1.4-litre MultiAir petrol with 140hp, the 1.6-litre MultiJet diesel with 120hp, and the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel in 120hp and 140hp outputs. These options provide buyers with a range of powertrains, all familiar from the standard Renegade line.
Cherokee Night Eagle: gloss black and diesel power
The Cherokee Night Eagle follows a similar approach, using the Longitude trim as its base and adding 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, gloss black exterior accents and a power tailgate. Inside, it features an 8.4-inch infotainment display, dual-zone climate control and a nine-speaker audio system with subwoofer.
Power comes from the 2.2-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel, available in 185hp and 200hp versions. These engines were already present in the Cherokee range, but the Night Eagle edition packages them with the new styling and equipment.
Market position and availability
Jeep had not confirmed pricing for either Night Eagle model at launch. The special editions extend the brand’s strategy of offering visually distinct variants alongside standard trims, a common approach among SUV makers at Frankfurt that year.
