The rendering suggests a more restrained approach to the Giulia’s bodywork compared with the QV. The car features a ventilated bonnet, a new front bumper, and an updated grille that dials back the aggressive cues seen on the performance flagship. Sporty side skirts and large alloy wheels remain, but the overall impression is more subdued, likely aimed at buyers seeking a less overtly sporting look.
Alfa Romeo has not yet released official images or details of the standard Giulia, but the rendering provides an early indication of how the non-QV models could differ from their high-performance sibling. The QV, designed to compete with the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63 S, leads with dramatic styling and substantial power, but the mainstream Giulia is set to take a more conventional route.
Expected engine range and launch timeline
Reports suggest the standard Giulia will be offered with a choice of engines, including a 2.0-litre petrol, a 2.2-litre diesel, and a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel. This broadens the Giulia’s appeal beyond the 503hp, V6-powered QV. Alfa Romeo is expected to unveil the regular Giulia at a major motor show in early 2016, with both Detroit and Geneva cited as possible venues.
