Racing One unveils track-focused Audi R8 V10 upgrade
Racing One has revealed a comprehensive upgrade package for the Audi R8 V10, raising power to 602bhp and fitting the car for dedicated track use.
Racing One, the German motorsport service provider, has introduced a performance and safety upgrade for the Audi R8 V10, pushing output to 602bhp and preparing the car for track-day and training duties. The package, aimed at serious enthusiasts and event participants, takes the already potent R8 and adds a suite of hardware and software changes for improved performance and circuit readiness.
Engine and performance upgrades
The heart of Racing One’s package is a power increase from the standard R8 V10’s 518bhp to 602bhp. This is achieved through a remapped ECU, minor engine tweaks, and the fitment of an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system. The exhaust not only reduces weight but also sharpens throttle response and delivers a more aggressive soundtrack suited to track use. Racing One claims the modifications bring the car’s output to around 610 metric horsepower, reflecting a substantial gain over the factory figure.
No official acceleration or top speed figures have been released for the modified car, but the increase in power and reduction in weight from the titanium exhaust are expected to improve both. The package is designed for track applications rather than road use, with reliability and repeatability in mind for circuit sessions and driver training events.
Chassis, safety and data systems
To handle the extra power and the demands of track driving, Racing One has fitted Bilstein 2-way MDS dampers and semi-slick racing tyres. Performance Friction Brakes replace the standard items, promising greater fade resistance and stopping power during extended circuit use. The cabin is reworked with racing seats, 6-point harnesses and a fire extinguisher, all aimed at meeting safety requirements for track days and training events.
A data logging system is integrated via the car’s CAN bus, allowing drivers and instructors to analyse lap times, throttle inputs and other key parameters after each session. Two video cameras can record track action, providing footage for review or coaching. These additions position the Racing One R8 as a tool for driver development as much as outright performance.
Track-day focus and customer base
Racing One’s modifications are tailored for the needs of private owners and event organisers seeking a reliable, high-performance track car with professional-grade safety and analysis equipment. The company’s background as an event organiser and motorsport service provider is reflected in the package, which prioritises circuit suitability over road comfort or styling changes.
The upgrade package is available now, with Racing One positioning it as a turn-key solution for those wanting to use the Audi R8 V10 for driver training or track-day hire. The €26,000 cost covers all modifications above the price of a standard R8, with installation and setup included by the company’s technicians.
