Audi has launched the R S7 Sportback in India, bringing the brand’s flagship performance fastback to the market at a starting price of ₹1.29 crore. The RS7 joins the ranks of high-performance executive cars now available to Indian buyers, slotting in above the S6 and positioned to challenge the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.
The R S7 Sportback is powered by Audi’s 4.0-litre TFSI twin-turbocharged V8, delivering 560hp and 700Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via the brand’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Audi claims the RS7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars in its class available in India. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Engine and technology
The V8 engine in the RS7 shares its architecture with the units found in the Audi S6 and Bentley Continental GT V8.
