AutoK9, a Romanian custom shop, has unveiled a one-off coupe version of the first-generation Dacia Logan. The project demonstrates the workshop’s ability to reimagine the budget saloon, with the finished car featuring a dramatic new roofline and bespoke detailing.

How AutoK9 built the Logan Coupe

The transformation began with a standard Dacia Logan saloon. AutoK9 sourced the roof and doors from a Hyundai Coupe, adapting them to fit the Logan’s bodywork. This required substantial modification to the chassis and panels, creating a sleeker, more sporting silhouette compared to the original four-door design.

Inside, the car received sports seats and a new steering wheel. The workshop also installed a lowered suspension and a double exhaust system, aiming for a more dynamic stance and sound. The doors and boot can be opened remotely, and the car features a custom body kit, LED smoked headlights, and a sunroof. Despite the visual overhaul, the powertrain remains the standard 1.4-litre petrol engine producing 75hp.

Purpose and context

AutoK9 previously created a convertible version of the Logan, but this coupe is a new direction, intended as a showcase of the shop’s technical skills rather than a production model. The build highlights the flexibility of the Logan platform for creative customisation. The car retains its original engine and underpinnings, so performance is unchanged, but the visual impact is substantial.

The Logan Coupe remains a one-off, with no plans for series production. For those interested in more conventional Logan models, the estate-bodied Logan MCV offers a very different take on practicality and value.
