Infiniti QX70 S Design revealed ahead of Paris debut

Infiniti has taken the wraps off the QX70 S Design, a new limited-edition version of its flagship SUV, ahead of the model’s public debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The S Design edition introduces a series of cosmetic changes aimed at giving the QX70 a more dynamic and individual look for Western European buyers.

The QX70 S Design stands out with extensive use of dark chrome on the grille, foglight surrounds, side air scoops, side sills and rear number plate surround. Infiniti has also given the headlights a smoked finish, while the 21-inch six-spoke alloy wheels are finished in black, matching the black roof rails and door mirrors. These changes are intended to set the S Design apart from the standard QX70 and appeal to buyers looking for a sportier appearance in the luxury SUV segment.

Inside, the QX70 S Design carries over the exterior’s dark theme. The centre console receives a black lacquer finish, while purple stitching accents the seats, steering wheel, armrest and door trims. The S Design also includes the S-Premium trim as standard, adding further equipment and luxury features to the cabin.

Powertrain and availability

Infiniti has confirmed that the QX70 S Design will be offered with the same V6 engine options as the regular QX70. Buyers can choose between petrol and diesel engines, with no mechanical changes or performance upgrades announced for the S Design edition. The focus remains on visual and equipment enhancements rather than changes under the bonnet.
