A more powerful V6 S variant offered 380hp, while the range-topping V8 S featured a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with 495hp. All versions paired rear-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and the car was positioned as a successor to the E-Type, targeting the sports convertible segment.

For the dealership, the loss of a high-value new model so soon after launch was a blow.
