Fresh digital renderings have reimagined the Jeep Renegade as a three-door, offering enthusiasts a glimpse at a body style the brand has not officially announced. The images, created by digital artist Theophilus Chin, surfaced just days after the Renegade’s world premiere at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The Renegade, which debuted in Geneva as Jeep’s smallest model, is built on the Fiat 500L’s platform and adopts a boxy, upright design inspired by the Wrangler. The three-door renderings retain the Renegade’s trademark seven-slot grille and high ground clearance, but shorten the body and remove the rear doors, giving it a more compact, sporty appearance.
Jeep has not confirmed any intention to produce a three-door version. The official launch focused on the five-door, which targets the growing compact SUV segment in Europe and other markets. The Renegade’s design cues, such as the upright stance and rugged detailing, were meant to evoke Jeep’s off-road heritage while appealing to urban buyers.
How a three-door could fit the Renegade range
A three-door Renegade would be unusual in the current SUV market, where practicality and rear-seat access are priorities for most buyers.
