Justin Bieber has been advised by his management to stop driving himself and instead use a personal driver, after a series of speeding incidents involving his white Ferrari in a gated community in north Los Angeles. The advice followed complaints from residents and a police investigation into alleged reckless driving by the 19-year-old singer.

Police investigation into Ferrari speeding complaints

Residents of the exclusive Los Angeles neighbourhood reported Bieber driving his Ferrari at speeds far above the posted 25mph limit. According to police, several witnesses were interviewed after complaints that the car was being driven at freeway speeds on residential streets. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation into the incident in late May 2013.

Officers were unable to interview Bieber directly, as they were not granted access to his home. The Sheriff’s Department stated that a report for reckless driving would be submitted to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which would determine whether to pursue a misdemeanour charge against the singer.

Management urges Bieber to hire a driver

Bieber’s management team reportedly told him to stop driving himself and to hire a professional driver, citing concerns for his safety and the safety of others. An unnamed source told Fox News that the advice was firm, but that Bieber had not accepted it. The team’s concerns intensified after the latest complaints and the ongoing police investigation.

Other incidents involving Bieber’s Ferrari

Bieber’s Ferrari has been at the centre of several incidents. Two days before the most recent complaint, police stopped the same car for speeding, but Bieber’s friend Lil’ Twist was behind the wheel. Earlier in the year, Lil’ Twist was involved in a separate incident with the Ferrari that resulted in the death of a paparazzo, though no charges were filed in that case.

The repeated incidents have raised concerns not only about Bieber’s driving but about the use of his high-performance car by others in his circle. The situation has added to the scrutiny of celebrity drivers and the potential risks posed by supercars in residential areas.
