Lumma Design has introduced an aftermarket package for the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Diesel, focusing on both performance and styling. The German tuning specialist’s latest offering is designed for Cayenne Diesel owners who want to enhance their vehicle’s appearance and driving dynamics without committing to major mechanical changes. The package includes a selection of exterior and interior modifications, as well as a significant boost in engine output.

Overview of the Lumma Design Porsche Cayenne Diesel Package

Performance Upgrades: ECU Enhancement

The highlight of the Lumma Design package is a plug-and-play ECU module. This electronic upgrade increases the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine’s output from the factory standard of 240hp to 276hp. Torque is also raised, from 550Nm to 630Nm, providing a noticeable improvement in the SUV’s pulling power. According to Lumma, the additional torque enables the Cayenne Diesel to cruise at lower engine speeds, which may result in better fuel efficiency under certain conditions. However, no official performance or fuel economy figures have been published for the modified vehicle.

The ECU upgrade is designed to be reversible, allowing owners to return their vehicle to its stock configuration if desired. No permanent changes to the engine are required, making the modification accessible to a broad range of customers. Lumma’s approach aims to deliver a performance lift while preserving the reliability and longevity associated with the Cayenne Diesel’s powertrain.

Exterior Modifications and Styling

Lumma Design’s package includes a number of visual upgrades to distinguish the Cayenne Diesel from the standard model. The exterior receives chrome-plated stainless steel twin exhaust pipe deflectors, adding a polished look to the rear of the SUV. Buyers can select from two wheel options: 22-inch Mono alloys in a silver finish or larger 23-inch Mono alloys with a two-tone design. These wheels not only enhance the vehicle’s stance but also offer a choice between subtlety and a more assertive appearance.

Other exterior enhancements include headlight covers, which give the front end a more distinctive look. These changes are intended to offer a refined and sporty appearance without being overly aggressive, making the kit suitable for a variety of tastes and uses.

Interior and Engine Bay Enhancements

Inside, the Lumma Design package adds custom door sill panels and tailored floor mats for both the cabin and boot, providing a more personalised and premium feel. In the engine bay, a red-coated cover and a metal crest logo are included as part of the engine optics package, adding a touch of exclusivity when the bonnet is lifted.

Availability, Pricing, and Alternatives

At the time of the package’s unveiling, Lumma Design had not released pricing details for the Cayenne Diesel kit. The company has a track record of developing similar tuning programmes for previous generations of the Cayenne, as well as for other premium SUVs. This new offering continues that tradition, aiming to attract buyers looking for a balance of performance and style upgrades without extensive modifications.

For those interested in further diesel performance enhancements, other tuners such as RUF have also developed packages for the 2011 Cayenne Diesel. These alternatives provide different approaches to boosting power and customising the vehicle, giving owners a range of options depending on their preferences and requirements.
