BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition celebrates Wittmann’s title with 23-unit run
BMW unveils the M4 DTM Champion Edition, a limited Alpine White model with motorsport-inspired details, marking Marco Wittmann’s 2014 DTM drivers’ championship with just 23 cars produced.
BMW has revealed the M4 DTM Champion Edition, a limited-run version of the M4 Coupe built to honour Marco Wittmann’s 2014 DTM drivers’ title. Just 23 examples will be produced, referencing Wittmann’s race number during his championship-winning season.
Each M4 DTM Champion Edition is finished in Alpine White and receives a series of visual and material upgrades from BMW Individual. Motorsport striping runs across the bonnet, while the signature M kidney grille features orange surrounds, echoing the livery of Wittmann’s BMW Team RMG car. Carbon fibre reinforced plastic is used for the roof, mirror caps, rear spoiler and diffuser insert, emphasising the connection to BMW’s racing programme.
Additional exterior features include carbon front flaps, a black side skirt blade and a black front splitter. The car sits on 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels, further distinguishing it from the standard M4. The Champion Edition’s design is intended to evoke the look and feel of a DTM racer while remaining fully road legal.
Interior details and exclusivity
Inside, the Champion Edition carries several bespoke elements. The Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and handbrake lever, carbon interior trim and a serial number plaque on the dashboard all set it apart from regular M4s. Door sill plates bear Marco Wittmann’s signature, reinforcing the link to his DTM success.
BMW has not announced any mechanical changes for the Champion Edition, so the car retains the standard M4’s 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine, producing 431hp and 550Nm of torque. Performance figures remain unchanged from the regular M4 Coupe.
Position among BMW special editions
Pricing for the M4 DTM Champion Edition had not been disclosed at the time of unveiling. Given the limited run and bespoke features, a premium over the standard M4 Coupe is expected. Deliveries are set to begin following the announcement, with all cars finished identically in Alpine White and carrying their unique build number.
