Audi has not officially confirmed plans for a Q6, but the renderings suggest how the brand might respond to rivals that have carved out a niche for large, premium SUVs with coupé-inspired styling. The Q6, if produced, would extend Audi’s SUV line-up into a segment where BMW’s X6 and Mercedes’ GLE Coupé have already established themselves.
Design cues from the Q7, with a sportier twist
The rendered Q6 keeps the Q7’s basic proportions but introduces a steeply raked roof, slimmer taillights and a more aggressive front grille. These changes give the Q6 a sportier silhouette, in line with the coupé-SUV template established by its German competitors. The images suggest a vehicle that would be positioned above the Q5 in Audi’s range, but with a more style-focused approach than the family-oriented Q7.
If Audi brings the Q6 to production, it would likely share its platform and much of its mechanical package with the Q7. That means a modular chassis, quattro all-wheel drive and a familiar engine line-up, including 2.0 TFSI and 3.0 TFSI petrols, as well as 3.0 TDI diesels in multiple outputs. These engines already meet the expectations for performance and refinement in the segment.

BMW’s X6 effectively defined the coupé-SUV segment in 2008, and Mercedes followed with the GLE Coupé. Both models have found buyers seeking the presence of a large SUV with a more dramatic profile.
