Skoda has launched a limited-run Fabia to celebrate its WRC 2 title in the 2017 World Rally Championship, producing just 1,300 units of the “WRC 2 2017 Champion” edition for fans across 21 markets. The special edition arrives as a nod to what the company calls its most successful motorsport year, with the Fabia R5 securing the WRC 2 crown.

Styling and mechanical changes

The WRC 2 Champion Edition stands out from the standard Fabia with a candy white paint finish, contrasting black roof, and a choice of 17-inch Savio alloy wheels in white, black or Skoda’s signature bright green. "WRC 2 2017 Champion" badging marks the car’s rally pedigree, while the interior receives a new steering wheel, sports seats and additional trim details referencing the motorsport link.

Unlike some special editions, Skoda has included mechanical changes. The 1.4-litre TSI engine produces 125hp (92kW) and is paired with the company’s seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. Skoda claims 0-100km/h in 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 203km/h. The car sits on a sports suspension system with reduced ground clearance and firmer shock absorbers, while an updated exhaust system aims to add a sportier note.

Position in the Fabia range

This is not a full-fat RS model, which Skoda has confirmed will not return for the current Fabia generation. Instead, the WRC 2 Champion Edition sits above standard and Monte Carlo trims as a collector-focused variant with both cosmetic and performance upgrades. It provides an option for buyers seeking a more distinctive Fabia, but without the power or chassis changes of the discontinued RS. Where to order

Orders for the Fabia WRC 2 Champion Edition are open in selected European markets, with distribution focused on countries with strong rally followings. Skoda has not announced UK allocation, and the model is primarily targeted at continental Europe. The limited run and motorsport connection are expected to attract collectors and rally enthusiasts.
