Toyota Unveils Camatte Capsule: Configurable Trailer Concept for Kids
Toyota has introduced the Camatte Capsule, a customisable trailer designed for children, ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Toy Show alongside the Camatte concept cars.
Toyota has revealed the Camatte Capsule, a configurable trailer concept aimed at children, which will be shown at the Tokyo Toy Show. The Capsule is intended as an accessory for the company's Camatte series of concept cars, offering young visitors the chance to customise its interior and exterior using an interactive projection system.
The Camatte Capsule stands out for its focus on child engagement. Using a tablet app, children can select from six different colour patterns and choose up to eight objects to virtually place inside the trailer. Options include a bed, basketball hoop and toolbox. Once a design is chosen, the system projects the result onto three of the trailer's interior walls, giving children and parents a shared space to discuss and visualise ideas.
Customisation and interactive features
Toyota says the aim is to convey the joy and potential of motoring to the next generation. The interactive projection system is central to this, allowing children to experiment with layouts and colour schemes in real time. The Camatte Capsule will be displayed alongside other Camatte concepts, including the Camatte 57, Camatte Hajime and Camatte Sora, reinforcing the brand’s ongoing interest in engaging younger audiences through playful design.
- Six exterior colour patterns available via projection.
- Eight selectable interior objects, including furniture and play equipment.
- Designs are projected onto three interior walls for immersive customisation.
Positioned for family engagement at the Tokyo Toy Show
The Camatte Capsule’s public debut at the Tokyo Toy Show is designed to give families hands-on experience with the concept. Toyota’s approach this year highlights not just the vehicles but also the accessories and experiences that can foster interest in cars among children. The Camatte Capsule will be displayed alongside the Camatte 57, Hajime and Sora, forming a central part of Toyota’s stand at the event.
