The French based automaker Citroen is planning to bring a convertible version of the DS3 hot hatch during this year’s edition of the Paris Motor Show, which will debut on the 27th of September.
The car manufacturer may keep the Citroen DS3 Convertible into the shadows for the moment but that doesn’t mean that the drop-top version of the hot hatch isn’t coming and, according to the guys at autoexpress.co.uk, the vehicle is expected to go on sale in 2013. Our source is also saying that the Citroen DS3 Convertible will get a roll-back fabric roof and not a conventional folding cloth top.
The setup will be similar to the one found on the Fiat 500C and the roof mechanism found on the DS3 Convertible will roll back and sit above the tailgate, which will allow the roof bars to remain in place. The Citroen DS3 Convertible might get a 1.6 liter diesel engine which will provide a total output of 108 horsepower, along with a more powerful 1.6 liter gasoline turbocharged unit, generating 148 horsepower. The Citroen DS3 Convertible, which is expected to be named the Airflow, will be more expensive than the hatchback version. More details on the model are expected to be shared in September, during the Paris Motor Show.
