Inden Design transforms 2011 Mercedes S500 with S65 AMG-inspired package
Inden Design has unveiled a conversion for the 2011 Mercedes S500, giving it S65 AMG looks, upgraded performance, and a host of interior and chassis enhancements.
Inden Design has released a comprehensive S65 AMG-style conversion package for the 2011 Mercedes S500, targeting owners seeking the flagship AMG look and feel without the full S65's powertrain. The German tuning house's offering includes exterior, interior, and mechanical upgrades, bringing the S500 closer to the range-topping S-Class both in appearance and driving character.
Exterior upgrades mirror AMG flagship
The most immediate change is the S65 AMG-inspired body kit. Inden fits a new front apron featuring LED daytime running lights, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. The car is finished in a matte grey wrap, which gives it a more aggressive, contemporary stance. Completing the transformation, the S500 rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, with 265/30 tyres at the front and 275/30 at the rear, filling out the arches and enhancing the car's presence.
These modifications aim to give the S500 the visual impact of the S65 AMG, without altering the fundamental bodywork. The aesthetic changes are paired with functional upgrades, such as the wider wheels and tyres, which contribute to improved grip and stability.
Interior reworked with luxury materials
Inden's changes extend to the cabin, where the A, B, and C pillars, headliner, dashboard, and door panels are retrimmed in a combination of two-tone leather and black Alcantara. All original wood trim is replaced by black carbon fibre components, giving the interior a more modern, sporting feel. The speedometer is swapped for a 360 km/h unit, further underlining the AMG influence.
Performance and chassis modifications
While the S500's standard V8 does not match the S65's V12 for outright power, Inden has lifted output to 420hp by fitting a stainless steel exhaust system with dual AMG-style tailpipes. To handle the additional performance, the braking system is upgraded to S600 V12 BiTurbo specification, with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rears. The suspension is lowered by 50mm, aiming to reduce body roll and sharpen handling.
