Indian coachbuilder DC Design has launched a comprehensive tuning package for the Renault Duster, introducing a new aesthetic and a raft of interior upgrades for the popular SUV. The package, priced at around €4,940, is aimed at Indian buyers seeking a more upmarket take on the Duster’s rugged formula.

Bespoke interior for rear passengers

DC Design’s approach focuses on transforming the Duster’s interior into a space that mimics executive saloons. The rear bench is replaced by two large, six-way adjustable seats, separated by a centre console equipped with entertainment controls. Passengers in the rear also benefit from a foldable tray table and an individual multimedia system, with the main screen positioned for the right-hand seat. Materials are upgraded throughout, with artificial leather upholstery and faux wood trim dominating the revised cabin.

The front seats and dashboard also receive custom treatments, but the focus remains on rear-seat comfort and amenities. This layout is a clear nod to the chauffeur-driven market in India, where rear passenger experience is often prioritised.

Exterior styling and branding changes

On the outside, DC Design replaces the standard Duster’s grille and front bumper with bespoke units, adds a thin strip of LED lighting, and fits new daytime running lights. The car is finished in matte black, with DC Design’s own badges replacing Renault’s logos. These changes give the Duster a more aggressive and distinctive look compared to the standard model.

No mechanical upgrades are included in the package. The focus remains on visual and comfort enhancements, making this Duster suited to buyers who value style and interior ambience over outright performance.

Position in the Indian market

The Duster has been a strong seller for Renault in India, valued for its practicality and affordability. DC Design’s conversion offers a new option for buyers who want a more luxurious experience but are unwilling to step up to premium SUVs. With a price tag equivalent to around €4,940 for the full package, it undercuts the cost of importing or buying a high-end model outright.

While the Duster’s mechanicals remain unchanged, the focus on rear-seat comfort and bespoke styling sets DC Design’s version apart from other aftermarket offerings. The package is likely to appeal to private owners and those using the Duster as a chauffeur-driven vehicle, a common practice in India’s urban centres.

Other Duster tuning options

DC Design is not the only company offering bespoke takes on the Duster. European tuners such as Elia have also released packages for the Dacia-badged version, focusing on exterior and off-road enhancements.
