Jeep has confirmed European pricing for the 2012 Wrangler Arctic special edition, setting the entry point at €36,850. The limited-run model, first shown in North America in late 2011, is now available to order across Europe in both two- and four-door configurations.

Features specific to the Arctic edition

The Arctic edition distinguishes itself with a choice of three exterior finishes, Bright White, Bright Silver and Winter Chill, plus a Yeti Footprint decal exclusive to the model. It sits on 17-inch alloy wheels with 32-inch tyres and is based on the Wrangler Unlimited platform, meaning buyers can select either the standard two-door or the longer four-door body.

Under the bonnet, the Arctic gets Jeep’s 2.8-litre CRD diesel, producing 200hp. This engine is paired with either a manual or automatic gearbox, depending on market and specification. The Arctic’s interior receives Gore-Tex and Polar White trim, orange leather accents, and model-specific floor mats. Equipment includes Bluetooth, cruise control, a 6.5-inch touchscreen and a 30GB hard drive for the infotainment system.

Position in the market

With a starting price of €36,850, the Wrangler Arctic sits above the standard Wrangler in Jeep’s European range, reflecting its extra equipment and limited-edition status. It enters a market segment where buyers are drawn to both the off-road capability of the Wrangler and the added exclusivity of a factory special. For comparison, mainstream compact SUVs such as the Mitsubishi ASX start at considerably lower prices, but lack the Wrangler’s rugged focus and unique branding.

  • Wrangler Arctic offers unique styling and equipment over standard model
  • Available with both two- and four-door body styles
  • Limited production aimed at collectors and enthusiasts
