2014 Acura TSX Sedan and Sport Wagon: Pricing and Model Details Announced
Acura has confirmed pricing and specifications for its 2014 TSX Sedan and Sport Wagon, with the range starting at $30,635 and a new Technology Package available.
Acura has detailed the 2014 TSX line-up for North America, confirming that both the TSX Sedan and TSX Sport Wagon will continue into the new model year with updated pricing and a revised equipment list. The base TSX Sedan starts at $30,635, while the TSX Sport Wagon is priced from $31,985. Both prices exclude destination and handling fees.
The 2014 TSX Sedan is offered with a choice of two engines. The 2.4-litre four-cylinder produces 201 horsepower and is paired with a five-speed automatic gearbox as standard, though the Special Edition variant can be specified with a six-speed manual at no extra cost. Those seeking more performance can opt for the 3.5-litre V6, which develops 280 horsepower and is available exclusively with the automatic transmission.
TSX Special Edition and Sport Wagon options
For 2014, the TSX Special Edition Sedan continues, offering buyers a sportier trim level featuring an ebony interior with red stitching, red instrument illumination and other cosmetic upgrades. The Special Edition can be ordered with either the six-speed manual or the five-speed automatic.
The TSX Sport Wagon, which shares its 2.4-litre engine with the standard sedan, is only available with the automatic transmission. This model provides additional cargo capacity and is priced at $31,985. The sole major option for the Sport Wagon is the Technology Package.
Technology Package features
A new Technology Package is now available across the TSX Sedan and Sport Wagon ranges. It includes a full VGA navigation system with an LED-backlit screen, a rearview camera, and Acura's Song By Voice (SBV) interface. Owners can also store up to 15GB of personal music on the car’s hard disk drive. The package also brings a 10-speaker Acura/ELS Surround Premium audio system, developed with Grammy-winning engineer Elliot Scheiner.
Position in the Acura range
The TSX remains Acura’s entry in the compact executive segment, sitting below the larger TL sedan. While the TSX Sedan offers buyers a choice between four-cylinder and V6 power, the Sport Wagon is limited to the four-cylinder automatic configuration. The new Technology Package aims to keep the TSX competitive by adding features that have become expected in the segment.
No major styling or mechanical changes have been introduced for 2014, with the focus instead on equipment and value.
