Digital renderings have surfaced showing how the 2014 GMC Sierra could look in single-cab form, following the official debut of the new generation pickup.
Digital renderings of the 2014 GMC Sierra in single-cab configuration have appeared online, offering the first glimpse at what a two-door version of GMC's latest full-size pickup could look like. The images follow the official unveiling of the new Sierra generation, which was presented to the public in late 2012.
The renderings, created by independent digital artist Theophilus Chin, show the Sierra with a shortened cab and bed, reflecting the traditional single-cab layout. While GMC has yet to confirm production details for a single-cab variant, the visualisation suggests a lighter, more compact pickup aimed at buyers prioritising payload and simplicity over rear-seat space.
If GMC proceeds with a single-cab version, the shorter wheelbase and reduced bodywork would likely result in a lower overall weight compared to crew and double cab models. This could translate into improved fuel economy and slightly better performance, particularly when paired with the new EcoTec3 engine range, which includes a 4.3-litre V6, a 5.3-litre V8, and a 6.2-litre V8. GMC's EcoTec3 engine family underpins the new Sierra range.
