Audi begins production of third-generation TT in Hungary
Audi’s Győr plant has started building the 2015 TT, with the new model set to reach European showrooms later in the year and production running at full capacity.
Audi’s factory in Győr, Hungary, has begun series production of the third-generation TT. The new model, which follows two successful predecessors, is now rolling off the line at a plant that Audi says is operating at full capacity for the first time.
The Hungarian facility, which has received substantial recent investment, now produces the TT alongside the A3 Saloon and Cabriolet. Audi describes the integration of the TT as a major step for the site, marking the first time three different models are built entirely in Hungary.
New TT design and engine options
The 2015 TT brings sharper exterior styling, with a more angular front end, a single-frame grille and pronounced horizontal lines. The familiar curved roof remains, but the overall profile is more aggressive than before. Inside, Audi has introduced its new digital instrument cluster, aiming to modernise the driving experience.
At launch, buyers in Germany can choose the 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine producing 230 PS and 370 Nm of torque, with a starting price of €35,000. The higher-performance TTS variant is also available, offering 310 PS and 380 Nm from a tuned version of the same engine, priced from €49,100. Both engines drive the front or all four wheels through six-speed manual or S tronic dual-clutch gearboxes, depending on specification.
