GMC has officially revealed the 2015 Sierra Denali, updating its flagship pickup with new suspension technology and enhanced in-cabin features while keeping its established V8 powertrains. The announcement confirms the Sierra Denali as the first full-size truck to offer magnetic ride control, a system designed to improve ride comfort and handling precision without compromising its towing and payload abilities.

Magnetic ride control arrives in the pickup segment

The main technical change for the 2015 Sierra Denali is the adoption of magnetic ride control, a technology previously seen in GM’s luxury cars and performance models. The system uses real-time damping adjustments to smooth out rough surfaces and maintain body control, particularly when the truck is loaded or towing. GMC positions this as a move to give the Denali a more refined, car-like ride, targeting buyers who expect both capability and comfort from a premium pickup.

Other core mechanical elements remain unchanged. Buyers can choose between the 5.3-litre V8, producing 355hp and 383lb ft of torque, or the 6.2-litre V8 with 420hp and 460lb ft. Both engines are paired with automatic transmissions and retain the payload and trailering ratings that have made the Sierra Denali a popular choice for customers needing full-size utility.

New technology for connectivity and comfort

Inside, the 2015 Sierra Denali gains several updates aimed at improving connectivity and usability. New features include Siri Eyes Free integration for iPhone users, text messaging alerts, and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot with a 3GB data trial. These additions bring the Denali’s infotainment system in line with the latest expectations for connected vehicles, making it easier for drivers to stay in touch and access information on the move.

  • Siri Eyes Free compatibility for voice control
  • Text messaging alerts for hands-free updates
  • Wi-Fi hotspot with included data trial

The exterior and cabin design remain largely unchanged from the previous model year, with the Denali continuing to offer distinctive styling, premium materials, and a high level of standard equipment. GMC’s updates focus on technology and ride quality rather than a visual overhaul.
