A new rendering has surfaced online, giving a clear indication of how Nissan’s next-generation Qashqai could look when it arrives in showrooms in 2014. The image, based on recent spy shots and design cues from the Nissan Resonance Concept, suggests the company is preparing a substantial visual overhaul for its popular crossover.
The rendering, which circulated on enthusiast forums, combines elements seen on camouflaged prototypes with the bold styling of the Resonance Concept first shown at the 2013 Detroit motor show. The result is a Qashqai with a more sculpted body, a larger and more angular front grille, and a noticeably sloping rear end. Sweptback headlights and a tailgate spoiler also feature, indicating Nissan’s intent to move the Qashqai’s design further upmarket and away from its more utilitarian origins.
