Volkswagen launches 2015 Polo GTI in Australia from $27,490
The 2015 Polo GTI arrives in Australia with a 1.8-litre turbo engine, manual and DSG options, and a starting price under $30,000 for the dual-clutch variant.
Volkswagen has introduced the 2015 Polo GTI to the Australian market, offering the hot hatch in both six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic variants. The manual starts at $27,490 AUD, while the DSG commands a $2,500 premium at $29,990 AUD.
The new Polo GTI is powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 141kW. The manual version delivers 320Nm of torque between 1,450 and 4,200rpm, while the DSG is limited to 250Nm but spreads it from 1,250 to 5,300rpm. Both versions claim a 0-100km/h sprint of 6.7 seconds, with fuel consumption rated at 6.1L/100km for the manual and 5.7L/100km for the DSG.
Standard equipment and features
Australian buyers receive a well-equipped Polo GTI as standard. Features include 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats, dual chrome exhausts, GTI-specific honeycomb grille, black sports diffuser, and darkened taillights. Safety equipment covers six airbags, electronic stability control, extended electronic differential lock, multi-collision brake, and hill start assist.
