Honda releases extensive photo gallery for facelifted 2016 Accord Sedan

Honda has published a detailed photo gallery for the facelifted 2016 Accord Sedan, following its official unveiling earlier in the summer. The images highlight the model’s updated exterior, interior revisions and expanded technology features, targeting buyers in the midsize saloon segment.
Visual and chassis updates for 2016 Accord
The 2016 Accord Sedan’s facelift brings sharper front and rear styling, with new headlight and taillight designs, a revised grille and updated bumpers. Honda has moved to an aluminium bonnet in place of steel, reducing weight over the front axle. Larger front brakes and a retuned Active Sound Control system are included, aiming to improve both driving feel and cabin refinement.
Chassis tweaks and a more rigid body structure are claimed to improve ride quality and handling. The Sport trim receives 19-inch wheels and tyres, along with a new meter cluster and carbon-fibre style dashboard trim. LX and Sport models now feature glossy piano black interior accents, while the Sport’s seats get new cloth with leatherette bolsters.
New tech and safety equipment
The 2016 Accord is the first Honda to offer both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, available through the revised infotainment system. Other equipment additions include remote engine start, front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers and heated rear seats. Honda Sensing, the company’s suite of active safety technologies, can be specified on all trims except the Touring.
Practicality updates include a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, while the Sport trim gains a new instrument meter. The boot and rear seat arrangement aim to maintain the Accord’s reputation for family-friendly space.
Engine and transmission options
Engine choices remain familiar: a 2.4-litre four-cylinder producing either 185 or 189 hp depending on trim, and a 3.5-litre V6 with 278 hp. Buyers can select between a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, depending on engine and trim level.
