Aston Martin Unveils China-Only V8 Vantage S GB Edition at 2017 Auto Shanghai
Aston Martin's Q division created just five V8 Vantage S GB Edition Roadsters, each finished in Stratus White with bespoke British-themed details and sold exclusively for China.
Aston Martin used the 2017 Auto Shanghai show to introduce the V8 Vantage S GB Edition, a limited run of five cars built exclusively for China. Each example was specified by the Q by Aston Martin division and priced at the equivalent of $303,000, or around £235,000 at the time.
The GB Edition was available solely as a Roadster and finished in Stratus White, with blue accents on the mirror caps, rear diffuser and taillights. Exterior wing badges featured red, white and blue detailing. Inside, the cabin was trimmed in Aurora Blue leather with red 'Zagato' wave quilting, blue anodised dashboard rotary knobs and Union Jack embroidery on the central armrest.
Mechanically, the GB Edition matched the standard V8 Vantage S. The 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 produced 430hp (321kW) and 490Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels. Aston Martin quoted 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 305km/h. No engine or chassis upgrades were offered beyond the bespoke cosmetic treatment.
China-only special from Q by Aston Martin
Aston Martin said the GB Edition was created to celebrate British culture and craftsmanship, echoing the company's previous use of patriotic themes for limited-run models. The Q by Aston Martin division handled specification and personalisation. Only five cars were produced, making this one of the rarest V8 Vantage S variants. All were reserved for Chinese buyers and not offered elsewhere.
