Acura Sets US Pricing for 2010 ZDX Ahead of December Launch
The all-new Acura ZDX, a four-door sports coupe with all-wheel drive and a 3.7-litre V6, will reach US showrooms from 15 December 2009 with a starting price of $45,495.
Acura has confirmed that its new 2010 ZDX will arrive at US dealerships on 15 December 2009, with a starting price of $45,495 before destination charges. The ZDX, which Acura describes as a four-door sports coupe, enters a market segment where coupe styling meets SUV practicality. All versions feature a 3.7-litre V6 engine and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive as standard.
Trim levels and equipment
The ZDX will be offered in three specifications: the standard ZDX, ZDX with Technology Package, and ZDX with Advance Package. All models include a panoramic glass roof, hidden rear door handles, and a hand-stitched leather interior. The Technology Package adds navigation with voice recognition, real-time traffic and weather, a multi-view rear camera, and an upgraded ELS audio system with a 15GB hard drive. The Advance Package introduces adaptive cruise control, a blind spot information system, collision mitigation braking, active dampers, ventilated front seats, and additional interior upgrades.
| Trim | MSRP (USD) | EPA mpg (city/hwy/combined) |
|---|---|---|
| ZDX | $45,495 | 16/23/19 |
| ZDX with Technology Package | $49,995 | 16/23/19 |

Powertrain and performance
Every ZDX is powered by Acura’s 3.7-litre VTEC V6, producing 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through a six-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels via the SH-AWD system. Official EPA figures rate the ZDX at 16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. Acura claims this offers class-leading efficiency for a vehicle in its segment.
Market context and rivals
Acura positions the ZDX as a niche alternative to traditional SUVs and crossovers, targeting buyers seeking distinctive design and premium features. The ZDX enters a segment that includes vehicles like the BMW X6, which also blends coupe styling with SUV attributes. Pricing for the ZDX undercuts European rivals in the US market, with the base model coming in below the entry-level BMW X6 at the time of launch.
The ZDX’s arrival follows a year of new model launches and price announcements across the premium segment, such as the 2010 Audi R8 V10and the 2009 GMC Sierra Hybrid. Unlike those, the ZDX focuses on blending luxury and style with all-weather capability rather than outright performance or efficiency.
On sale and availability
The 2010 ZDX will be available at Acura dealerships in the US from 15 December 2009. Acura reports strong early interest from dealers and customers, reflecting demand for a model that expands the brand’s crossover and SUV line-up. The ZDX is built in North America and will be offered exclusively with the 3.7-litre V6 and all-wheel drive at launch.
