BMW M240i M Performance Edition launches with 340hp and limited run
BMW has introduced the M240i M Performance Edition, a limited 750-unit model featuring a 340hp straight-six, distinctive carbon detailing and exclusive styling upgrades.
BMW has announced the M240i M Performance Edition, a limited-run model with 340hp from its 3.0-litre straight-six, offering buyers a more aggressive take on the compact coupé without stepping up to a full M2. Production is capped at 750 units, with sales beginning in July 2017.
The M240i M Performance Edition builds on the regular M240i’s mechanical package, retaining the turbocharged six-cylinder engine but tuning it for 340hp. Buyers can select either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, and both rear-wheel drive and xDrive all-wheel drive configurations are available.
Exterior upgrades and carbon details
BMW has focused on visual impact for the M Performance Edition. The car is finished in Alpine White and features a black kidney grille, carbon fibre mirror caps and side skirts, plus a carbon rear spoiler and diffuser. Carbon-fibre exhaust tips complete the rear. The front bumper has larger air inlets and a pronounced splitter, while 19-inch Orbit Grey alloys are standard.

BMW will build just 750 examples of the M240i M Performance Edition, with sales commencing in July 2017. Pricing and market allocation details have not been released. The limited run and distinctive styling are expected to make it one of the more collectable recent 2 Series variants.
