Chevrolet has added a new limited-run model to its midsize pickup range with the launch of the 2017 Colorado Shoreline. The special edition, revealed for the US market, targets buyers in coastal regions and introduces a series of styling updates and standard features not found on the regular Colorado LT.

Exclusive features and styling tweaks

The Colorado Shoreline stands out with black 18-inch alloy wheels, a body-coloured front grille and black trim for the door handles, beltline and side mirror caps. Chevrolet limits the palette to four paint options: Red Hot, Laser Blue, Summit White and Silver Ice Metallic. Regardless of colour, all Shoreline models receive the same black exterior detailing.

Inside, the package includes all-weather floor liners and a spray-in bedliner as standard. Chevrolet also bundles a one-year Sirius XM radio subscription, aiming to enhance the ownership experience for buyers who use their pickups for leisure as much as work.

Market positioning and availability

Chevrolet restricts the Shoreline edition to the extended cab version of the Colorado in LT trim. Buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The brand positions the Shoreline as a lifestyle-oriented model, reflecting the preferences of buyers in California, which remains the largest market for the Colorado. According to Chevrolet, sales in Los Angeles alone outpace the next two largest US markets combined.

With the Shoreline, Chevrolet adds to its growing portfolio of special edition Colorados, following models such as the Trail Boss and Midnight. These variants are designed to keep the midsize pickup range fresh and appeal to niche customer groups without major mechanical changes.

The 2017 Colorado Shoreline is aimed squarely at buyers looking for a distinctive appearance and additional standard equipment, rather than performance upgrades or off-road enhancements. Pricing and production numbers were not detailed at launch.
