DJ Afrojack places order for Bugatti Chiron
Dutch DJ Afrojack has confirmed he has ordered a Bugatti Chiron, joining a select group of buyers ahead of the hypercar’s official unveiling in 2016.
Dutch music producer and DJ Afrojack has publicly confirmed he has placed an order for the Bugatti Chiron, making him one of the earliest named buyers of Bugatti’s next-generation hypercar before its official debut in 2016.
Afrojack, whose real name is Nick van de Wall, announced the purchase on his Instagram account. The Dutchman, known for his collection of high-end cars, has previously owned models such as the Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari 458 Italia. His latest order places him among the first wave of Chiron customers, ahead of the car’s official unveiling at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
Bugatti Chiron: what to expect
The Chiron will succeed the Bugatti Veyron and is expected to retain the 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, heavily revised to deliver around 1,500 PS. This marks a substantial increase over the Veyron’s maximum 1,200 PS, aiming to keep Bugatti at the top of the hypercar segment. Early figures suggest the Chiron should accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just over two seconds, with a top speed expected to surpass 450 km/h.
Bugatti has not yet released full technical details, but the Chiron is set to feature all-wheel drive and a dual-clutch automatic transmission, following the template established by the Veyron.
