Facelifted Dacia Duster Pickup Imagined in Digital Render
A digital rendering reimagines the facelifted Dacia Duster as a pickup, sparking interest in a body style the brand has not offered since the Logan Pickup ended production.
A digital artist has produced a rendering of the facelifted Dacia Duster as a pickup, combining the updated SUV’s front-end with a practical load bed. The image, which surfaced online after the Duster’s 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show refresh, has reignited speculation about whether Dacia could return to the pickup segment it left after discontinuing the Logan Pickup.
The facelifted Duster, as unveiled at Frankfurt, introduced a revised grille, new headlights and interior improvements, including the MediaNav infotainment system, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors and cruise control with speed limiter. The engine range expanded to include a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit producing 123hp and 250Nm, alongside the existing 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre dCi diesels. Two-wheel-drive versions of the 1.2 TCe claim 6.3L/100km and 145g/km CO2 emissions.
Why the Duster Pickup Idea Attracts Attention
Dacia’s last pickup, the Logan Pickup, exited production several years ago, leaving a gap in the brand’s range for buyers seeking affordable utility. While the Duster has proved popular as an SUV, the lack of a pickup variant is notable given the segment’s growth in many markets. The digital render shows how the Duster’s facelifted design could translate to a double-cab pickup, with the raised ride height and robust styling carried over from the SUV.
Although Dacia has not officially announced plans for a Duster-based pickup, the idea is not without precedent. Renault, Dacia’s parent company, markets Duster-based pickups in some regions under its own badge. Prototypes of a Dacia Duster pickup have also been spotted testing in Romania in the past, suggesting the company has at least evaluated the possibility. Facelifted Duster: What Changed
The 2013 facelift brought more than cosmetic tweaks. The Duster gained electronic stability control as standard, addressing a key omission from earlier models. Top trims added the MediaNav touchscreen system and rear parking assist, features that help keep the model competitive. The new 1.2 TCe engine offered improved performance and efficiency over the older 1.6-litre petrol, while diesel options remained for buyers prioritising economy.

As of late 2013, Dacia had not confirmed any plans to add a pickup variant to the Duster range.
