Castagna Milano unveils stretched Fiat 500 limousine
Italian coachbuilder Castagna Milano has transformed the Fiat 500 convertible into a limousine over five metres long, offering three bespoke versions for different uses.
Castagna Milano has revealed a Fiat 500 limousine, stretching the city car to 5.43 metres and offering a choice of three distinct versions. The project marks the Italian coachbuilder’s entry into the US market, with the design based on the Fiat 500 convertible.
The standard Fiat 500 measures 3.5 metres, but Castagna Milano’s limousine conversion extends the car by nearly two metres, taking the wheelbase from 2.3 metres to 4.1 metres. The roofline has also been raised in the CityLimo version to 158 cm, up from the original 149 cm, to allow more headroom for passengers.
Three limousine variants
Castagna Milano offers the stretched 500 in three configurations. The LimoSun is the most open, featuring large roof and side openings that can be closed with transparent panels. Inside, four seats face each other in the passenger compartment, echoing the layout of classic limousines. The LimoCity is a fully enclosed version with a circular sofa, sliding doors and a mini-bar, targeting city-based private hire or luxury shuttle use.

The LimoCity Presidential stands out as the only electric version. It is powered by two electric motors and, according to Castagna Milano, can reach a top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h) with a range of up to 250 km. This variant is painted green, underlining its zero-emission credentials.
Aimed at niche markets and special events
Castagna Milano’s limousine conversion is aimed at a niche clientele, including hotels, event operators and private buyers seeking something more individual than a standard luxury saloon. The company, which has a long history of bespoke coachbuilding, is using the Fiat 500 limousine to mark its expansion into the United States, where the standard 500 had recently launched.
While the technical underpinnings remain largely Fiat, the conversion is extensive, with bodywork, interior and roof all re-engineered for limousine duties. The use of the convertible as a base allows for the open-air LimoSun, while the enclosed variants cater to more traditional limousine expectations.
Castagna Milano’s approach contrasts with other Fiat 500 customisation projects, such as the Gucci edition or the performance-focused Abarth models, by focusing on luxury and novelty rather than style or speed.
