A Lykan Hypersport has been listed for sale by Al-Ain Class Motors in Dubai with an asking price of $3.4 million, making it one of the world’s most expensive supercars available on the used market. The car, finished in black, is one of only a handful produced by W Motors and remains a rare sight even among high-end dealerships in the region.
W Motors, based in Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates, launched the Lykan Hypersport in 2013 as the first supercar designed and built in the Middle East. The car’s exclusivity is underlined by its production numbers, with only a handful ever made. The Dubai listing is one of the few opportunities for collectors to acquire one without waiting for a new build.
Performance and engineering
The Lykan Hypersport is powered by a 3.7-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine developed by RUF, producing 770hp and 1,000Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. W Motors claims a 0-100km/h time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 395km/h, placing it in direct competition with established hypercars from Bugatti, Ferrari and McLaren.
While the Lykan Hypersport’s performance figures are on par with other seven-figure supercars, its price tag of $3.4 million puts it well above most rivals. For comparison, a Bugatti Veyron or a McLaren P1 typically changes hands for less, even in the most exclusive specifications. The Lykan’s high price is partly justified by its extreme rarity and the inclusion of luxury features such as diamond-encrusted headlights and a bespoke interior.
