BMW Unveils M Sport Package for 2011 X3
BMW has announced the M Sport package for its 2011 X3, introducing sportier styling, chassis upgrades and exclusive interior features, with availability set for spring 2011.
BMW has confirmed that its new M Sport package for the 2011 X3 will be available from spring 2011, offering buyers a sharper look and enhanced driving dynamics on the brand’s second-generation mid-size SUV.
Developed by BMW’s M division, the M Sport package brings a series of visual and mechanical upgrades. The exterior receives a dedicated M bodykit, including revised front and rear bumpers, deeper side skirts and subtle M badging. Standard 19-inch M light-alloy wheels fill the arches, while a stiffer sports suspension is fitted to sharpen handling. For buyers seeking a more understated look, 18-inch M alloys are also offered as part of the package.
Inside, the X3 M Sport package adds a multi-function leather steering wheel with M branding, a unique M gear selector, and special upholstery options. The roof liner is finished in anthracite, and aluminium trim pieces further distinguish the cabin from standard models. These touches are intended to bring the X3’s interior closer to the feel of BMW’s M-badged performance cars, though the X3 M Sport remains distinct from a full M model.
Chassis and handling upgrades
Beyond the visual changes, the M Sport package includes sports suspension tuning and BMW’s Performance Control system for xDrive all-wheel-drive models. Performance Control works by varying drive torque between the rear wheels to improve agility in corners, aiming to deliver a more dynamic driving experience without sacrificing the X3’s all-weather capability.
