Ford launched production of the new Focus at its Vsevolozhsk facility near St. Petersburg on 18 July 2011. The five-door hatchback was the first variant to roll off the line, with four-door saloon and estate versions scheduled to follow in September and January respectively.

The Vsevolozhsk plant has produced the Focus since 2002, making it the first car built by a global manufacturer in Russia. Over 400,000 units have been assembled there, and the Focus held the title of Russia's best-selling foreign car for seven years.

Ford offers Russian customers a choice of four engines, three petrol and one diesel, alongside 10 exterior colours. The company reported that 5,000 orders for the new Focus had already been placed before production began.

Focus range for Russia

  • Five-door hatchback (production started July 2011)
  • Four-door saloon (production to start September 2011)
  • Estate (production to start January 2012)

The new model's Russian production launch coincided with its first on-sale date in South Africa. For more on Ford's global Focus production, seeFord Begins Production of Focus Electric in Michigan.
