Rod Stewart Seen Driving Ferrari 458 Spider in Los Angeles
Rod Stewart has added a white Ferrari 458 Spider to his collection, joining his Rolls-Royce and Range Rover, and was recently spotted driving it with the roof down in LA.
Rod Stewart has been seen behind the wheel of a white Ferrari 458 Spider in Los Angeles, adding another supercar to his well-documented collection. The British singer was photographed with the roof down, making the most of the California weather.
The 458 Spider is Ferrari’s open-top version of the 458 Italia, introduced at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. It kept the same 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine as the coupe, producing 562hp and 540Nm of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Ferrari claimed the Spider could reach 62mph in around 3.4 seconds, matching the coupe’s performance despite the additional weight of the retractable hardtop.
Stewart’s car, finished in white with a red interior, stands out even in Los Angeles. The 458 Spider’s folding aluminium roof can be lowered in 14 seconds, and the car’s proportions remain close to the coupe: 4,527mm long, 1,937mm wide and 1,213mm high. The 458 range was nearing the end of its production run at the time, with Ferrari preparing a successor that would later be revealed as the 488.
