Suzuki has released a special edition Jimny Adventure for the UK market in 2016, restricting production to just 200 units. The Adventure arrives as the current Jimny nears the end of its lengthy run, with a new generation expected soon.

The Adventure is built on the SZ4 trim, which already includes 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, synthetic leather heated seats, and rear privacy glass. For the special edition, Suzuki adds a two-tone finish, Quasar Grey metallic paint with a contrasting Pearl White roof, plus a spare wheel cover and a standard-fit satellite navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity.

Specification and pricing

Power comes from the familiar 1.3-litre petrol engine, producing 85bhp and paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The Jimny's selectable all-wheel drive system allows drivers to switch between 2WD and 4WD modes, retaining the model's reputation for off-road ability.

At £14,949, the Adventure commands a premium over the standard Jimny, which starts at £12,499. The extra cost brings navigation, Bluetooth, and bespoke styling, aimed at buyers seeking a final edition of the current model before it leaves showrooms.

Position in the market

With only 200 units available, the Jimny Adventure is likely to appeal to collectors and enthusiasts of the long-running compact SUV. Suzuki continues to offer the Jimny as one of the few affordable, small off-roaders with a true ladder-frame chassis and selectable four-wheel drive, even as rivals move to more car-like crossovers. The Adventure edition provides a last opportunity for UK buyers to secure a new example of the outgoing generation with added equipment and unique styling.
