Saab owners and independent garages in the UK have seen a marked improvement in parts availability and service after a series of initiatives by Saab Parts UK and Orio. With over 175,000 Saabs still in use across the country, the combined moves are intended to ensure continued support for both private owners and the trade.

Nationwide parts locator and expanded stock

Saab Parts UK has introduced a nationwide parts locator system, linking 80 service and parts centres. This creates the largest single stock of Saab original parts in the UK, with over 160,000 items available and a combined value of £5 million. The network aims to make it easier for both authorised and independent repairers to source genuine Saab components, improving service levels for customers and trade alike.

Some centres have increased their inventory and delivery capacity, responding to demand from trade customers who require a reliable supply. Saab original parts are covered by a two-year warranty and include access to technical information, helping maintain the operational efficiency of ageing Saabs. The locator system is particularly relevant as the marque’s official presence in the UK has faded, leaving owners reliant on the aftermarket and specialist networks.

Online ordering and next-day delivery from Orio

Orio UK, the sole supplier of Saab original parts, has launched an online portal that allows workshops and independent garages to order and pay for Saab parts directly. The portal lists the full range, including over 1,300 fast-moving items stocked in the UK for overnight delivery. This includes service kits, brakes, suspension, batteries, and more than 100 crash repair items such as bumpers and lighting. The system is designed to simplify the ordering process and reduce downtime for both owners and repairers.

Orders placed before 3pm are eligible for free next-day delivery, following the opening of Orio’s UK distribution centre in Hatfield. All Saab Original parts now carry an enhanced three-year warranty and are supported by UK-based technical specialists, providing reassurance for both trade and retail customers. The new system covers most Saab models from the past 15 years, including the 9-3 and both generations of 9-5.

Lower repair costs and aftermarket options

Orio has also announced a reduction in prices for 107 sheet metal body parts, including panels for the 9-3 and 9-5. The average saving is over £200 per part, with some items reduced by as much as £538. This move is intended to support bodyshops and independent repairers, making Saab crash repairs more viable and helping to keep more vehicles on the road. Orio’s parent company in Sweden is well stocked with panels and crash repair items, ensuring long-term supply.

Alongside genuine Saab parts, Orio has introduced the Saab Select range, covering everyday repair items such as brake pads, clutches, and radiators. These are also available through the online portal, broadening the options for workshops and owners looking for cost-effective maintenance solutions.
