Alfa Romeo 4C Gains Power and Drama with Capristo Exhaust
Luxembourg tuner BR Performance extracts 276hp from the Alfa Romeo 4C using a Capristo exhaust, raising both power and torque while adding a sharper soundtrack.
BR Performance in Luxembourg has pushed the Alfa Romeo 4C’s 1.75-litre turbo engine to 276hp by fitting a Capristo exhaust system, a notable increase over the standard output. Torque rises from 367Nm to 440Nm, putting the lightweight Italian coupé well ahead of several rivals in outright twist.
The Capristo system, hand-built in Germany from T309 stainless steel, replaces the standard exhaust with either a valved or free-flow configuration. The 200-cell construction reduces back pressure, helping to unlock additional power from the mid-mounted four-cylinder. Capristo’s proprietary valves and polished finish are standard, and the system is offered with a carbon fibre rear diffuser and cover frame for a more aggressive look.

Capristo offers several versions for the 4C, including a road-legal ECE-approved system with silencers and exhaust flap, as well as a race-only setup without rear silencer. The valved system allows owners to switch between quieter and louder modes using a programmable remote, catering for both street use and track days. The exhaust tips are moved inboard, echoing the 4C Spider’s layout, while the carbon undertray and surround further distinguish the car visually.

However, the freer-flowing 200-cell system may not comply with road regulations in all countries, especially in racing configurations without a silencer or with high-flow catalytic converters.
