First Koenigsegg Agera RS delivered to private collector
The inaugural Koenigsegg Agera RS has reached its first owner, joining a collection that already includes the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and McLaren P1.
Koenigsegg has handed over the first Agera RS to a private customer, marking the arrival of its latest hypercar in the hands of an established collector. The car, finished in exposed carbon fibre, was delivered to Hussein Musallam, whose garage already includes the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport World Record Edition, Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1.
The Agera RS made its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Koenigsegg’s new flagship sits between the Agera R and the extreme One:1, blending track-focused technology with road usability. The RS is built around a carbon fibre monocoque and features a redesigned front bumper, revised rear wing and a new aerodynamic fin along the side sills, drawing on lessons from the One:1 programme.
Engine and performance details
Under the rear deck is Koenigsegg’s 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 1,160hp at 7,800rpm and delivering 1,280Nm of torque from 4,100rpm. Koenigsegg has not released full performance figures for the RS at the time of delivery, but the combination of low weight, advanced aerodynamics and power output places it among the fastest production cars built by the Swedish manufacturer.
Collector demand and exclusivity
Koenigsegg is producing the Agera RS in very limited numbers, and each car is tailored to its buyer’s specification. The price has not been officially disclosed, but the Agera RS is expected to command a seven-figure sum before options. For collectors such as Musallam, the RS represents a rare addition to a roster that already includes some of the most exclusive hypercars built this decade.
