Detroit’s 2014 NAIAS brings major debuts and global reveals

The 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit hosts over 50 global unveilings, with public days running from 18 to 26 January and tickets starting at $13.

Detroit’s Cobo Center opens its doors for the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) from 13 to 26 January, bringing more than 50 world debuts and a packed calendar of events. Organisers expect over 800,000 visitors across the fortnight, with the public show running from Saturday 18 January to Sunday 26 January.

Major unveilings at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show

This year’s show features a strong line-up of new models and concepts. BMW brings the production M3 and M4, as well as the 2 Series Coupe and a facelifted X1. Ford’s new F-150, a key product for the US market, takes centre stage alongside the latest Mustang. Several debuts have already drawn attention ahead of the public opening. NAIAS 2014 calendar and ticket information

The show’s schedule begins with press days on 13 and 14 January, followed by industry preview days on 15 and 16 January. The annual Charity Preview, a major fundraising event, takes place on 17 January. Public admission runs from 18 to 25 January between 9am and 10pm, with the final day, Sunday 26 January, closing at 7pm (last entry at 6pm).

Adult tickets cost $13, with reduced prices of $7 for seniors (65+) and children aged 7 to 12. Children under six enter free with an adult. Groups of 30 or more can book at $9 per ticket. eTickets are available online for the standard adult rate.

What to expect on the show floor

Visitors can expect a mix of production cars, concepts and racing machinery. The event’s floor plan covers the full Cobo Center, with manufacturers using elaborate stands to showcase their latest models and technologies.
