Chevrolet has unveiled the Corvette Z06 to European audiences at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, confirming that the supercharged V8 flagship will reach showrooms across the continent from spring 2015. This marks the first time the Z06 has been officially offered in Europe, following its world premiere at the Detroit auto show in 2014.
The Z06 arrives as the most powerful production Corvette yet, with Chevrolet quoting 659hp (485kW) and 881Nm of torque from its supercharged 6.2-litre V8. Buyers can choose between a seven-speed manual gearbox and an optional eight-speed automatic. The car sits on a newly developed aluminium frame, with an aero package designed to increase downforce for high-speed stability.
European pricing and specification
Chevrolet has confirmed German pricing for the Z06 coupe at €99,500, with the convertible version starting at €104,500. This places the European Z06 well above its US counterpart, which is listed from $78,995 for the coupe and $83,995 for the convertible. The price premium reflects shipping, import duties and regional equipment differences.
For buyers seeking further performance, Chevrolet offers an optional package for an extra €16,500. This includes additional aerodynamic elements, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. The package is aimed at customers who intend to use the Z06’s full capability on track.
