Kia Cee’d GT Line debuts at 2015 Geneva Motor Show
Kia has revealed the Cee’d GT Line at Geneva, adding sporty styling and new engines to the Cee’d range across hatchback, estate and coupe bodystyles.
Kia pulled the covers off the Cee’d GT Line at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, expanding the Cee’d range with a sportier trim and a new engine option. The GT Line package, available on the five-door hatchback, three-door pro_cee’d and Sportswagon estate, brings styling cues from the full-fat Cee’d GT but with a broader appeal and more accessible engine choices. Sales are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2015.
GT styling for the mainstream Cee’d
The Cee’d GT Line borrows several exterior features from the Cee’d GT, including the distinctive ‘ice cube’ LED daytime running lights, deeper bumpers, a wider grille, and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the GT Line adds sports seats with bespoke upholstery, aluminium pedals, a GT-branded steering wheel, and piano black accents. Details such as a new start/stop button, illuminated USB and AUX ports, and chrome trim aim to lift the cabin above the standard Cee’d models.
This approach gives buyers the visual drama of the GT without the running costs or insurance premiums of a hot hatch. The GT Line is positioned as a more attainable alternative for those seeking sporty looks but not outright performance.
New 1.0-litre turbo and diesel upgrade
A new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine headlines the GT Line’s powertrain options. Rated at 120hp and 172Nm of torque, it is the first time this engine appears in the Cee’d range. The diesel offering is also updated: the 1.6-litre CRDi now produces 133hp and 285Nm, up from 128hp and 265Nm, and can be paired with Kia’s new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This brings improved performance and efficiency over the previous engine line-up.

The GT Line sits below the Cee’d GT in the range, targeting buyers who want the appearance of a performance model but with more practical engine choices.
